Ecuador v Costa Rica, 9:00 a.m.

14 June 2006, 21:44

I’ll be doing live commentary about the Ecuador-Cost Rica over on the Times blog. My past matches have turned out to be thrillers. This is being billed as the biggest game in Ecuadorian history. I’ll wear my Ecuador shirt.

  1. My pal Josh Is worried about his Sweedish team’s match with Paraguay today. Any comforting thoughts?

  2. Paraguay did not look very impressive against England, and my suspicion is that Paraguayan striker Roque Santa Cruz is still injured. Plus, Sweden has a few guys that can win a match single-handedly. That being said, I’m rooting for Paraguay.

  3. Can anyone confirm what the deal was with that spiderman mask on the last Ecuador goal? Someone reported that it was in honor of a young Ecuadorian phenom who died in a car accident (The mask was his trademark). I think TO has just been out “TO-ed”.

  4. The Tom Selleck guy on Univision doned his own mask as they finished their wrap-up. I don’t see anything on the FIFA Gear Shop.
