Pool Update - Round 2

29 June 2006, 12:05

The second round has been assessed, and everything is out of whack. The solo leader is barely a month old, and the solo loser is, um, me. I was sure I had Portugal in the last four and didn’t take Sweden to get out of the group. My sheet says different. Has someone broken into Newsletter headquarters and edited my bracket?

As for the rest of you, the big disappointment was Spain. Twenty-five contestants thought Spain would make the last eight. Don’t you ever learn? Following Spain were the Dutch, the Czechs (You killed me, Nedved), and the Mexicans. Kudos to those of you that had Ukraine and/or Portugal. Those were not popular picks. And good luck in the next round.
